PayNYCFines
A shorter, clearer way for New Yorkers to find and pay parking tickets.
I started PayNYCFines from an empty repository and had the first paid ticket through it two weeks later. I cut the form down to one plate or ticket number, then built the search, the unpaid-ticket list, and a checkout that takes about a minute. The business broke even in six months and passed $1M in paid tickets in nine. It now runs as FineHero on the infrastructure I built, Kubernetes with autoscaling and payment handling, and processes more than $5M in ticket payments a year without modifications.
